Motorsports and Communication

My name is Victor Pineda Carillo, and I’m originally from Mexico City. I’m of Nahua-Mixteco descent, and I’m passionate about motorsports. Currently, I’m the Manager for International Competition at NASCAR.

My journey in the racing industry started in Mexico, where I worked as a track marshal while attending high school in the 90s. Since then, I’ve worked my way up to Race Director and Steward, and in 2002, I started working in the series that later became the NASCAR Mexico Series. Eventually, I became the Competition Director before branching out on my own in 2015 and later joining NASCAR.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Culture, both from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). I am also passionate about modern communications. My career in media began in the late 90s as a host and writer on the radio and, afterward, in digital media.

I founded Primer Movimiento, a multimedia company that owns La Pareja Viajera and Pasajero Radio.

I also write a Spanish newsletter called Explorador, where I share my hobbies and interests. Please feel free to subscribe here.

You can find me on X - Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads and occasionally on my blog.
